What I Would Have Started Earlier, Had I known It Would Define My Life.

Daily writing prompt
What’s one thing you wish you had started doing earlier in life?

The one thing I wish I had started doing earlier in life, is the one thing I never imagined that I would want to do. Had I known that it would come to define my life, I certainly would have started when I was much younger.

I wish I had chosen to participate in the sacramental life of the Church. I wish that I had read the Bible earlier and often. I wish that I had been open to receiving the Gospel and coming to saving faith in Christ Jesus; before I made so many mistakes.

I am aware that atheists and secular culture hate the way we talk about our faith. I’m sorry that so many of us fall into the language of “churchianity”. I think it’s probably one of the reasons I was resistant to hearing about Jesus.

It wasn’t even immediately after my heart attack that I became a Christian. Over the course of the year following my first major medical mis-adventure, I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. I came to understand who Jesus is. Once that happened, I wished I had always trusted in Christ and chosen to live a more Godly and righteous life.
