Almighty God and heavenly Father,
we thank you continually for sending your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, into this world, and that because of his perfect life, shameful death, and glorious resurrection, sinners like us are able to be reconciled to you.
We pray that you will grant us pardon for those times our faith falters in the face of all the demands and distractions of this world.
We pray also that you bless our priest and our deacon with the peace of your Holy Spirit, so that from the pulpit and at the Lord’s table they may have confidence to speak the Word of God to the people of God.
We ask these things in the name of your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns together with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
