I’m afraid this will be a fairly boring reveal.
Safari
I don’t really know why I would use another browser on my phone, since all browsers on iOS use the same WebKit engine as Safari. I guess if you’re invested in another browser’s ecosystem across your other devices, it might make sense to use Firefox or Brave on your phone. It has been suggested to me that you should not be using TOR as your casual browser, to save network capacity for when you need it.
ESV Bible App
The ESV app gives you a really nice assortment of resources for a very modest annual subscription fee. There are certainly more capable Bible apps available on iOS. On the higher end, I could use Logos or Accordance. As a good compromise between cost and capability, I could use Olivetree, and I do also use this application in addition to the ESV Bible app. For free, you can’t do much better than Literal Word.
Proton Mail
I stopped using Big Tech companies as my email provider a few years ago. The proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back: Gmail started showing me my credit card balance, which was not included in the emails sent from my credit card issuer. I’ve been on a Proton Visionary plan ever since. They have a number of plans available at various price points, including a free option.
Apple News
I just wanted a news aggregator, and Apple News has provided a capable collection of headlines from across all my interests. I’m not looking for deep scrutiny of ownership and bias. That’s what Ground News is for.
Debit & Credit
This is my “check book” accounting application. I don’t want anything to do with Quicken.
That’s it. I know it isn’t very exciting.
