I don’t have a stunningly courageous answer for this prompt. I have never dove between a gunman and his intended target while nobody was paying attention.
I have never, unbeknown to the other candidates, quietly replaced their names with my own in a sacrificial lottery to decide who is fed to the dragon.
The bravest thing I’ve ever done when no one was watching, is the thing I do every day when nobody else is around. I bet you do it too, and I bet nobody recognizes the monumental courage that it requires: I get out of bed and face another day in the nightmare world which we humans have created.
When you get home from work or school or whatever challenge you face every day, shrug off the day’s burdens, and treat yourself to something. You deserve a little reward. We all do. It’s a frightening life we live, filled with all sorts of heartache and tragedy. We were brave today, I’m proud of us.
