Nobody can say that The Anglican Church in North America hasn’t made efforts to maintain a connection with the historic Anglo-Catholic church calendar. I agree that there was just something charming about liturgical seasons we knew before changes from the Second Vatican Council made their way through the lectionaries of Protestant churches.
However, trying to have both “the season after Pentecost” and “Trinitytide” is very confusing. The first Sunday after Pentecost is Trinity Sunday. Therefore Sundays after Trinity count one week behind Sundays after Pentecost. Do you see what I mean? Half the church is tracking “the fourth Sunday after Pentecost” and the other half of the church is tracking “the third Sunday after Trinity” so there is minor confusion in counting the weeks of the season.

Heavenly Father and Almighty God, we thank you for granting us life once more and for uniting us in Your Holy assembly.
We are continually thankful for the gift of Your son, Jesus Christ, who entered this broken world; through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection, sinners such as ourselves are afforded the opportunity for reconciliation with You.
Lord, we beseech You to bestow upon us wisdom, that when we encounter the shortcomings of others, we may also recognize our own failings and cultivate patience.
Furthermore, we request that You bless our priest and deacon with Your peace, so that from the pulpit and at the Lord’s table, they may be emboldened to deliver the words of God to the people of God.
