The Electric Utility called to inform us that power will not be restored. Ever. The work is too hard. They have simply given up. That’s so 2026 of them. They might just as well have called me with outdated memes for all the good their communications have done. “Electrical Service? SIX SEVEN!”
This is not some shanty high in the Appalachian Mountains. This is an incorporated city less than an hour’s drive from Pittsburgh. The electric utility just can’t figure out this whole “power-grid” thing.
Now that I must commute just to get a cup of coffee, I can tell you in sincerity that in my travels I have not seen a single work crew deployed in the effort to restore electrical service.
I guess we have the choice of abandoning this area or living as unwilling luddites in perpetual darkness.
