Heavenly Father, Almighty God, We thank You for this time together, gathered as Your holy assembly.
Lord, we thank You for the inspiration of Holy Scripture, through which the truths You have chosen to reveal about Yourself are made known to us today.
Lord, we pray that You will grant us pardon for those times we have convinced ourselves that the free gift of Your grace is the product of our own works.
We pray also that You will bless our priest and our deacon with Your peace, so that from the pulpit and at the Lord’s table they may have confidence to speak the words of God to the people of God.
We ask this in the name of Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns together with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

People: And blessed be his kingdom, now and for ever. Amen.

O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
