Almighty God, who through thine only-begotten Son Jesus Christ hast overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life: Grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of the Lord’s resurrection, may, by thy life-giving Spirit, be delivered from sin and raised from death; through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.

Personal Reflections
I was reminded on Good Friday of my own faults. I saw a good friend at the evening church service and when I said hello to her she didn’t respond. Later, she texted me to explain that she finds making small talk at the Good Friday service offensive, like laughing at a funeral. I am humbled by her reverence for Christ. I am ashamed of myself. I am thankful for this lesson that she taught me by her grace and devotion.
