SyFy has renewed their space bounty hunter series “Killjoys” for two seasons, the second of which will also be the series’ last. SyFy also axed another of their prime-time series. “Dark Matter” will not be returning for a fourth season.

I remember when both of these series launched on SyFy. I found Killjoys to be somewhat formulaic; the inter-planetary political structure reminded me of the Alliance from Firefly. I’m not saying they were identical, just that there was a vague similarity.  I guess there are certain tropes that just tend to repeat themselves in science fiction television. Ultimately I found the premise and the characters  interesting enough to keep watching.

Unfortunately, Dark Matter never really appealed to me. I’m not sorry to see it go. I watched the premier episode and never came back to it.
